WHY SHOULD YOU USE FINDLIEN.COM?
FINDLIEN.COM is useful for injured persons and their attorneys. This site should be used:
(1) To refute defense arguments that the attorney sent the client to a "friendly" health care provider. At the initial client interview, the attorney
can sit the new client in front of a computer terminal, bring up this site, and have the client enter his/her zip code into the
"ZIP" field. The client will be prompted with a number of local health care providers.
So, when a defense attorney asks the client how they found their medical provider, the client can state: "FINDLIEN.COM," thereby
refuting the "friendly doctor" argument.
(2) To provide the client with a means to find a health care provider if the client must travel. Emergencies, special occasions, and previously planned vacations sometimes interfere with the treatment process. The key to any personal injury case is a continuous course of treatment.
Gaps in treatment are used against plaintiffs and applicants if they are substantial gaps. The argument is that if the plaintiff/applicant was indeed hurt, s/he would not have stopped treatment.
Gaps in treatment also allow defense attorneys to draw the inference that something other than the accident at issue caused or substantially contributed to the plaintiff's claimed injuries.
FINDLIEN.COM helps to prevent these arguments as well by providing plaintiffs and their attorneys the ability to locate medical providers in other locations.
